My ex-GF's mom had a bugeye Sprite that had been converted to a Ford 289 with 4 speed from a wrecked Mustang. Made it very reliable anf FUN to drive.

That '56 is beautiful! Love the 2 tone with wire wheel knock-offs.

Nice! thumbs up I would have fun driving this automobile.

Is that windshield even functional? I would think my head would be at least a foot above it. And how do you open those dang 'ol doors? I don't see a door handle. And does it have a roof? It looks like it has a soft roof, but dang, it seems it was built for people who are very short. confused smiley

Lordy, that's a proper sports car.

GORGEOUS!

I've seen two modded frogeyes, one with a Ford 289 (a surprisingly popular mod) and one with some 1600cc engine.

Both were very quick, with the latter having a redline seemingly near 10,000 rpm.

The exhaust note was pure music.

Fun to ride in, but in the end, still goofy looking, lacking the visual cachét of a vintage 911.

Healy Blue and Ivory White

GORGEOUS!

If I'm not mistaken, the handle is on the inside.

You reach in over the top of the door.

Yes, I suppose you could put the top up in a sudden turn of weather, but otherwise you take the Bentley if it looks ghastly out.

I've seen two modded frogeyes...!

For the record, in the U.S. they were referred to as “bugeye” Sprites.
