If anyone needs/wants the higher-end hand sanitizer...

Just got an email from these guys, appears to be in stock:

... a tad pricey, but higher percentage ethanol and you're paying for fancy-shmancy. I haven't tried it myself, but the reviews are good.

High proof rum works great. Taken internally it destroys most of the worry about the pandemic...

No need... I posted for the benefit of the forum, not myself ... I have more isopropyl and ethanol than I know what to do with.

I only ever use hand sanitizer now on the rare occasion that we go anywhere and they happen to have it available. Publix has a dispenser at the entrance, as does the local Home Depot. And the one takeout restaurant that we have gone to since this all started has it at the cash register. Other than that, we don't go anywhere else. I don't see the need to use it at home since we can just wash our hands in the sink.

How about a happy song?

Peroxide for me,
Peroxide for me,
I love my dear peroxide,
Peroxide for me.

Peroxide is good too, but don't leave it on your hands too long...

Spray bottle stored in my car when I go shopping once a week. Spritz my hands until dripping wet, rub it around like I'm washing my hands, let sit about half a minute, then vigorously shake them off, get in car and drive away. When home, I bring it in and leave on my banister until I go out again. Factory darkened brown plastic bottle, stored in a temperate home. 4 months opened "shelf life"?

I think we've discussed this here before. H202 naturally breaks down to H2O and O2 ... this is presumably accelerated by light exposure and probably also by heat, which is why the bottles are brown (to protect against light) ... I would avoid leaving in the car, unless it's somewhere cool. The bottle usually has an expiration date printed on it, and once opened, I would assume probably good for no longer than about 6 months. There are testing kits on Amazon, but the easiest/cheapest is to drop onto a cut piece of raw potato ... if it fizzles, it's still active.

Yeah, I store it in the house. Only leaves with me for short shopping trips.
