Is "Forward with Masking" a good thing?

I've created an online course via Thinkific, and instead of using their thinkific. com/MyLongCourseName as the link, I want to use my CoolName .com as the link.

GoDaddy offers the standard Forward only, but also Forward with masking, which via some frame magic, keeps the URL of my CoolName present in the browser.

I'm reading conflicting reports on if masking is a good thing. Anyone have opinions of it's okay to use?

It's fine.

The main caveat is that anyone who cares in the slightest will quickly figure out that the URL is masked and know your real URL and might go there directly.

Google might not index your page properly from your masked URL, but it'll still be indexed from Thinkific.

Might want to check the terms of service with Thinkific. They may forbid masking and similar tricks with framing content in order to promote their site.
