'Your package make be lost'

'We're very sorry your delivery is so late. Although it may still arrive, you can request a refund now.'

A missive from AMZ about a recent order a few days ago.

At one point it was 'Delivered by today' by AMZ, then 'Package delayed, delivery date unknown', now this.

This may be a historic moment.

This would be only the second item, ever in my life, lost in a delivery stream.

The first was a few years back, when a self-sealing envelope 'Arrived Without Contents' stamped all over it, via USPS, from an AMZ third party seller.

It was promptly replaced by AMZ and the seller (the former may have paid the latter), and the envelope this time sealed with a wide strip of packing tape as well.

Surely, this is the beginning of the decline of civilization as we know it.

And sorry for calling all y'all Shirley.

We've had issues here at work.

We ordered 12 benchtop power supplies from a company in Sacramento (we're in Silicon Valley). Shipped by FedEx. They "lost it" for 2 weeks. When they finally "found" it, it looked like someone had run over the boxes with a steamroller.

10 of the 12 power supplies were damaged (they were well packed in their original boxes with extra padding in the containing box).

I order a lot from Amazon. A LOT. And this has been pretty common for me pretty much since the pandemic started. It seems like they've never been able to regain their footing. It seems like I'm always getting those email about a lost package or whatever.

I have had the opposite experience with Amz. Packages have been very well handled and many arriving before the original delivery date.

Only recent issue was a box of Cat6 cable that shipped on it's own (not contained in another box), which would have been fine but they left it on the steps and then it started raining. I'm sure the cable is fine so I have not complained, but the box got a pretty wet.

Coincidentally, just today I am dealing with a "Delivered" package that was certainly not "Delivered" to MY door...while I sat in the living room, steps from the front door. UPS Second Day air.
