ZFP drive enclosure for 2013 Mac Pro?

I just pulled the trigger on a "new to me" mac pro. It will take the place of my trusty old 3,1 Cheese Grater which has dead ended on OS.

I bought a bare bones 2013 mac pro and have drive and memory upgrades coming. Looking for an external drive for backups. My first Mac was a dual floppy SE. I remember adding a $999 Emac 10mb ZFP drive to sit underneath it. I was king of the world with all that space!

Does anyone know if there is something of the same concept for the tubular mac pro? Any other quality enclosures with the same look & feel?

Thanks
JPK

You have a photo?

If its just for backups, a simple bus powered USB drive would be fine, small, stick anywhere.

Are you loading it internally with a ton of storage space? $$$peeeeeedny.

Me too, then I wondered what ZFP meant for about a minute, then realized he meant Zero Foot Print.

Plan is 2tb internal storage and 4x16gb memory.

I suppose any portable usb drive would be fine for backups, but vanity dictates something cooler!

Thinking about this:

ORICO 2 Bay USB 3.0 to SATA 3.5 inch External Hard Drive Enclosure

No RAID, but two bays so I could put 2 of my old 3.5 drives from my old cheese grater into it.

Just paint one of these glossy black and stick a few drives in it-

Or if you could find one, get another 2013 MP for parts and gut it, then stick a few drives in that.

how much is an internal 2TB? Can you use those adapters?

didnt see a link... but this one?

kinda cool. Im of the mindset where new mac = new backup drive too. I just picked up an 8TB for $130.

This is a round case... but only 2.5" drives... spendy.

I ordered that Sabrent one. I have 2 2tb SSD drives and ordered 2 more standard drives. I think this may do the trick.

Also I have a 2TB Nvme in hand and am waiting for an adapter to plug it in to the internal slot on the new Mac Pro.

Have new ram coming to take it from 16 to 64.

Hopefully this will do it.
