FEDEX falling down

FEDEX seems to be having issues meeting delivery estimates. I'm now on my third missed delivery window in less than 3 weeks.

The last item was supposed to be delivered yesterday (MD to Philly area) and it looks like it won't be here until at least Friday - sitting in NJ. This was supposed to be a Shoprunner 2 day delivery.

The previous item was delivered 3 days late. It sat at the Fedex facility that's less than 10 miles from my house for 2 days. On those 2 days, there were no less than 2 different FEDEX trucks that drove thru my neighborhood.

USPS and UPS have been delivering everything either on time or ahead of schedule. Is FEDEX poorly run, understaffed or just slammed?

I feel your pain.

I had several poor deliveries from FedEx.

Slow delivery dates are expected, but like you, there were several rescheduled delivery dates and some near misdeliveries.

It's bad all over. Just in the last six weeks or so:

UPS lost a large delivery of mine for so long the vendor voluntarily sent out a replacement (then both packages showed up within a day of each other).

FedEx dropped and destroyed a Pioneer Elite receiver I'd gone to a lot of trouble to find and purchase.

Post Office took a month to deliver a letter (actually a check) a friend mailed me from 10 miles away.

The boom in online shopping is probably to blame.

In one of their major Atlanta hubs, FedEx had over 100 employees out with Covid-19. Deliveries were taking 3 weeks. That included the food delivery services like Hello Fresh and Blue Apron. Lots of spoiled food being left on trucks.

Over here, it was USPS that dropped the ball. They lost more of my packages during the pandemic than the rest of my life combined.

$130 worth of frozen fish delayed for 5 days, finally says "undeliverable, package damaged" - I assume the damage is the stink. The place I bought it from (Sitka Salmon) is switching to UPS next month, but I will have to see whether I will get a refund.
