Anybody sleeping with AppleWatch?

Insert jokes after the answers....

What are the benefits. I'm told I get up and sit at least once a night by my wife. How do I track this maybe check what my heart rate is at that point of the evening?

Any other benefits?

I sleep with it but I don't keep track of my sleep with it. Quite frankly, I sleep with it so that if I get up I'll get credit for moving and help close my rings. Pretty silly reason, but there you go.

I don't like the sleep tracker in iOS 7.

All they had to do was track rest/unrest/lying prone/standing/walking. Instead, they instituted mandatory wake and sleep times requiring the user to follow a fixed schedule down to the minute every single day without variation. I don't live in a prison. I'm not looking for a life-coach to blow a whistle in my ear when it's nearing bedtime, nor alert me to brush my teeth before bed with a mandatory two-minute tooth-brushing timer. I don't want my watch locking me out for 8 hours every day to enforce a sleep-schedule. The Sleep app is poorly designed, poorly conceived, stupid and useless to me.

The "stand" tracker shows me how often I get up at night and the heart-rate tracker shows how well I sleep. (No sign of apnea.) That's pretty helpful. If I want to get affirmation that my sleep was restful, the Health app on the iPhone will show me a chart of my heart rate throughout the night with data pulled from the Apple Watch.

There are lots of 3rd party apps that can figure out when you go to bed, how restful your sleep is, and how long you slept. If you need more info than you can get from the Health app then I'd suggest downloading one of those apps.

Do NOT use Apple's Sleep app. You will regret ever enabling it.

i love my apple watch but i've not understood people who can wear a device to bed. i feel shackled when i've tried it. it would actually be a good idea as a major reason i bought the AW was for fall detection and it is not unusual for me to trip on something if i get up for the bathroom in the night.

btw, for years i've tracked my sleep with Sleep Cycle which works from my nightstand. it's been a game changer for me in that it changed how i wake up. you set an alarm window and it somehow gauges how to rouse you when you're not in REM. i used to wake to the alarm feeling like i'd been smashed by a truck. haven't had that feeling more than once or twice in the last 10 years when previously a daily occurence.

I’ve used and Apple Watch for sleep tracking for several years now. It’s awesome and answered my question about what was going on. And helped me make adjustments. I just make sure to charge it before bedtime.

Apple Watch can act as a silent alarm. Haven't tried it out yet, but it will be handy when I have to wake up at horrific hours to get out the door once I resume traveling.

I use AutoSleep. It's not annoying and, as the name suggests, doesn't require much setup to get going. It's around $5.

I have no problem sleeping with my Apple Watch 4. I don't track my sleep with it. I use it as an alarm for a heart problem. I also use the heart monitor and EKG monitor.

Remember how when you were little
you could just rip off your diaper and
just run around naked and everyone
thought it was so cute and funny?

Anyway, I need bail money.

I wear a series 3 while I sleep. It has a silent alarm that buzzes the wrist so I don't wake up everyone. I have on occasion check and see that the Three Rings keeps track of things while sleeping. The Stand shows I have not stood up while sleeping. The Exercise and Activity show flat lines. On a particularly restless night, the activity did register some tossing and turning. Maybe it would keep track of the sitting up issue you might be experiencing and register the movement.
