It's more accurate to say that Verizon and AT&T are $30 cheaper (because those carriers are offering an instant discount).

This reminds me of the days that I had to walk past the Ferrari dealership on my way home from school.

BTW: The new iPhone 12 Mini size falls between the size of the 5/5s/SE and the 2020 SE. The metal band around it reminds me a lot of the 5/5s/SE, so size wise it's a better replacement for the original SE than the new SE is (we'll ignore price).

I suspect that band is to improve cell and 5G signal. I think it's a great move.

Curious if carriers will require an expensive "5G" service!

It looks like Verizon and ATT only have included 5G in the higher-cost unlimited plans. TMobile says it's in all their plans.

We have Google Fi and I got an email yesterday that they include it in their plans. They're selling TMobile primarily, however.

5G is a scam (in the United States).

5G runs your battery down and will be slower than 4G LTE pretty much everywhere in the United States (with the exception of the rare street corner with perfect line-of-site).

That was the one interesting bit I caught, that the iPhone 12's will run on LTE primarily to save battery life and only connect to 5G when the usage warrants it. So, in a way, that's a scam of its own, especially since carriers (Verizon) are advertising truly unlimited 5G combined with "throttled" unlimited LTE on the same plan.

Apple did a good middle-ground I think. Basically making these LTE phones that are future-proof for 5G when it's available. Let's see if it works out that way, however.

Many, if not most, buyers will have already replaced these phones by the time 5G actually gets off the ground.

It is what it is.

Night mode on the 11 is amazing. Night mode on Wide Angle and selfies on the 12 should be great as well!

The IP12ProMax camera looks like one of the largest imaging improvements in a long time.
