PowerMac G5 SATA drives hot swappable?

I have several SATA drives that I need to test and format. Is it possible to hot swap a drive using the built-in SATA connections on the G5? If so, is there one of the two plugs that should be disconnected first? Just trying to save some time from having to shut down and startup on each drive swap.

The G5's SATA controller was not designed with Hot Swap support.. so - I wouldn't do that.....

While Larry is correct, I have seen it done- brand new dual 2.0 G5, up and running with only one SATA drive, pull the plug, system keeps running, plug it back in, system keeps running.

I would guess as long as there is no data being accessed at the time there would be no damage, but I certainly do not recommened trying this.
