Will a Sawtooth Recognize a 1GB PC133/100 DIMM?

'Trying to outfit a computer for my brother.

He says a friend of his gave him a 1GHz DIMM (I don't have the DIMM in hand to try it).

I haven't used any sticks greater than 512MB on a Sawtooth.

Are larger DIMMs recognized?

1GB Dimms don't tend to work at all in the PowerMac G4s - including the Sawtooth.

There is a small chance it would show up as a 512MB module if it were built with 64x8 devices and had a good program... but unlikely.

Cool friends to be handing out 1GB sticks though... those were really only made for servers if it is a 168 Pin SDRam DIMM module - as not many, if any desktop/towers (no Mac and few PC, towards the end of the SDRam days) that used 168 Pin DIMMs could address more than 512MB per stick.

I should add... as long as it is a standard 168 Pin PC133 DIMM Module - won't hurt to try it... worst is that it won't show up or work correctly which one immediately resolves by removing. Either will work to some capacity or won't.

that said - sell it on Ebay and get one or maybe even two normal 512MB PC133 modules with the proceeds/
