Simple Mail question
Posted by: Blurb

What is the incoming mail server (and outgoing, for that matter) for yahoo.com? I was adding a new addy to my mail.app, but it won't communicate via mail.yahoo.com

So, what is the secret?

AFAIK only paid for yahoo mail plus offers pop.

If you are an ATT/Yahoo DSL customer--that is a different story.

but as Ken said, if you're using web based Yahoo, it costs cash money to get POP access. I canceled mine about two months ago in favor of gmail.

Thanks for the info. I've bookmarked the link blu gave as I had lost that from before. I only use the free yahoo address for related yahoo groups, etc (freecycle), but was trying to not have to sign in to yahoo to get that related email. I just wanted it to auto download like I do with my other addy's thru mail.app.

I thought there was a work-around for yahoo to work with mail. Not any longer? What about the IMAP or EXCHANGE options (for acct. types) listed in the acct set up for mail?

You can set the Yahoo groups to email your regular, non-yahoo email address when there is a new posting.

I have mine set to digest mode-so it only email after there are a bunch of new postings.
