Yes, but it has two other things going for it...

Like CSI, it has that cool detective-doctor schtick.

Unlike CSI, the writing and acting are generally superb.

And it has WAY too many hot women...

Jennifer Morrison is the obvious one, but Sela Ward and Lisa Edelstein are both pretty hot... and then we get Julie Warner tonight...

Sela Ward was never a cast member, always a Guest Star.

House is great.

I'll watch Hugh Laurie in just about anything. But I want House to go back to dealing with more than one patient per episode. I really enjoyed his brief forays into actually seeing patients. Like the guy with the misplaced MP3 player.

sscutchen, in fairness, Lisa Edelstein is unconventionally attractive...

Too much drama with Stacy. Not why people watch the show, IMHO.

Gimme Cuddy any day over the wounded bunnywabbit.

The snarky dialogue is written well. The A stories aren't.

Hugh Laurie and the snarkiness are the strengths of the show, and reducing the snarkiness is a terrible idea. They will ruin House (the character) if they keep it up.

Someone higher up the food chain must think that emotional dumbing-down is in order and that people who love House will love him more if he is kinder and gentler. Any execs who think that deserve rectal exams.

But ka jot, will you be performing the rectal exams personally?

And better question, am I invited to watch?

Only if you are willing to assist. I had planned to let someone else do the dirty work, but a scenario in which I would get to say "Hand me the anal probe" might have its humorous side. But I think The Kids in the Hall already did this particular skit.
