Just got an iPod shuffle for my son on an Audible.com deal ($151 -- shipped) for an iPod Shuffle 512 AND 12 Audio books. Since audio books -- on sale -- are never lower than $9 -- 12 X 9 = $108, so I figure that the iPod cost $43 AND I got 12 books on sale (I can choose any books in the whole stock, and the credits don't expire for 2 years). Not a total steal, but not bad -- especially since I'm a huge audiobook fan.

But here is my question. The iPod that came has a part #: M9724LL/A. Is this the latest version of the iPod Shuffle 512? Has there been more than one version of the iPod Shuffle 512?

As far as I know, there's only one version of the Shuffle (512 or 1 gig).

The audiobooks deal sounds good.

I hope your son loves his Shuffle.
