Secure Disk Image - What am I doing wrong ?

Hi everybody, I need some help!

I'm trying to create a secure disk image that requires a password to access its contents, using Disk Utility (I'm running 10.4.10).
I create it and select Encrypt and set the password.
I'm following the instructions exactly as described in Disk Utility Help.
The disk image gets created, but it never asks for a password to access it, its acting just like a folder.
What am I doing wrong ? Why is it not asking for a password each time i access it ?

Any ideas ?

Are you unmounting the image? Once the image is mounted, it's not 'secured,' because you've unlocked it.

Yes, the .DMG file on my desktop and when I open it, it mounts the disk image and then i can access the files normally. No request for a password.

Did you add the password to the keychain? Adding it is checked by default and you must uncheck it.

a-ha! I did tell it to add the password to Keychain.
I'll remove it from Keychain and try it again when I get home!
thanks!
