Then click on "Okay now, Where's My Refund? "

FF opens it just fine, Safari can't. What's wrong???

does it open on Safari???

Safari can’t open the page.
Safari can’t open the page “[sa.www4.irs.gov]” because it couldn’t establish a secure connection to the server “sa.www4.irs.gov”.

Version 3.1 (4525.13) does not work for me.

How come you have V 3.0.4 but the number (5523.13) seems higher than my V 3.1 with 4525.13?

what do these numbers mean?

Working for me here - Safari 3.1 (5525.13)

Not sure if it matters but running a fully patched 10.5.2 with a newly firmwared MBP.

And S-T, the numbers refer to the build number. I think you misread/typed the 3.1 number cause it should be 5525.13.

No, I typed it right. PPC here (PB G4). 10.4.11

Safari Version 3.1 (4525.13). What is interesting is that both Safari and WebKit show the same info... why???

on my wife's MacBook, 10.5.2., the Safari version is 3.1 but the build number is 5525.13 and it opens just fine.

Weird... maybe it has something to do with littlesnitch? I'll try to turn it off

Cool, running only Leopard here so I was seeing the other number -- I wonder if the 1st digit relates to the OS: 4 for 10.4, 5 for 10.5, but I digress.

Hmmm...I was gonna say it might be a 10.4 thing but assuming Artie's build number is accurate and he's running 10.4 too, looks like it may be a local issue. I run littlesnitch here and it works on my G5 and MBP, both 10.5.2 and Safari 3.1.

For me safari will routinely refuse to open pages. Quit safari, start safari, page works great. Safari is the biggest pile of doo I've seen in a long time and apple and the press falls all over it like it is precious gold. Firefox is leaps and bounds ahead of safari and without it the mac platform would be a stunted internet platform.

beerman,

quit safari didn't do the trick for me. It still won't load

I don't really care, since I can check that page from FF or from the wife's macBook, but still, I'd like to know why it does not work out of pure curiosity.

Accessing my credit card account to make a payment. Safari just sat there, Opera the same, Firefox made progress through the first two steps but couldn't make it through the third and last step. Internet Explorer 5.2 for the Mac breezed right through it. Go figure.
