Anyone ever try Ampache?

It is a web-based music management tool. I'm playing with it on my Ubuntu box, but it should work on OS X too.

[ampache.org]

It requires a LAMP or MAMP installation, but that isn't too difficult anymore.

OS X already has Apache installed by default. Ampache It allows you to remotely create playlists using a web based tool, then it generates a streaming M3U feed that you can use to listen to your music. It sounds a little complicated until you realize that you could access your entire collection of music remotely over the web, or from any computer on your network, or...you get the idea. I'm just curious if anyone else has played with this at all.

I might give that a shot - looks cool.

I've been using this for remote access:

I just set it up at home: MAMP + Ampache. Works great - listening to music from work.
Thanks for the link.

OK. I've dumped Ampache for something else.

Subsonic.

[subsonic.sourceforge.net]

It takes a little more fiddling to set up (10 minutes vs. 5 for Ampache), but the interface is nicer, and the library loads much more quickly (for me).
