Anyone familiar with this and have you used it? I realize OSX is not on my front burner but I have not heard any mention of the program CONTRIBUTE.

It's been out for about 1 year now (could be more, actually). I've known about it, but never bothered to take a close look.

Seems to me this was a peecee item only..... which is probably why I never bothered to look at it much, despite their presence in this otherwise historic home.

Web publishing for groups. Macromedia has a tour, and it's now shipping with Studio 8.

I saw it when it first came out and it seemed like a neat solution for sites
that needed parts of the info changed on a regular basis but where the
webmaster didn't need to be involved.

I could see using it for things like an electronic newsletter where you have
"articles" contributed by many folks with no need to wait until IT can get to it.

IIRC, Apple was sponsoring a $50 discount on Contribute for .Mac subscribers. They might still be. According to the .Mac promotional materials, Contribute 3 also supports publishing content to the users .Mac account/site.

I am not familar with Contribute, but it is not "peecee only". It does run in Mac OS X. I would have chosen to write "Microsoft Windows only" or "Windows PCs only" since PCs can run a variety of operating systems other than Microsoft Windows. In the same way that I don't like Mac OS X marginalized, I attempt to avoid marginalizing Linux, FreeBSD, and so on.
