Networking help needed ASAP please

OK, just got my mom hooked up with DSL. It works fine when the modem is connected to the eMac.

Now I need to get the connection to work with her PC via a Linksys router provided by her IT guy at work. I know the router settings need to be for PPPoE, but what should the Mac network settings be?

Once I connect the router, I lose my connection. I haven't even tried to hook up the PC yet.

She is running OS 10.1.5 (I know, I know. I'll get her upgraded.) The router is a Linksys BDFSR41 Etherfast Cable/DSL Router.

TIA-

Built-in ethernet->TCP/IP->configure using DHCP.

The router should have a DHCP server built-in that needs to be turned on.

TLB- Thanks for the quick reply. So I use DHCP rather than PPPoE?

On the mac side, yes, use DHCP. The router still needs PPPoE to talk to the ISP. It will use the PPPoE on the WAN/Internet side and DHCP on the LAN side.

Thanks so much TLB. I swear I didn't do anything differently than I did the 3 times before I posted, but it is working (at least on the Mac) now.

I'm off to test the PC.

I just set up the same sort of network. Piece of cake when it comes to either the Mac or Wintel machine.
