The Family Stone

An OK movie but did they have to have a mother dying of cancer and a Deaf gay son with a black partner to make a modern movie? It was like Hollywood was throwing in everything politically correct to make the movie current. Were was save the whales?

I am not saying anything agains cancer, gays or blacks. Just why is it necessary to put them all in a movie that has no bearing on the plot? A black friend, a mother recovering from cancer, and a son that was not deaf.

However, I think I did learn a couple of cuss words in signing which was interesting. I never thought about cussing in sign language and I a constantly amazed at people that learn signing and braille.

OT: I try to close my eyes on the doors at the local hospital to read the braille on the entrances and am in awe of how Hellen Keller and all blind learn braille. I fail and really appreciate those that can read it.
