How to bake chicken parts in toaster oven??

Down here in the basement I am limited to a microwave, hot plate, and toaster oven. Something about lockdown.

Can you make decent chicken thighs and drumsticks in a toaster oven? My building manager says in a pyrex tray for 15 minutes at 450 will do.

Anybody had experience with this?

Temperature is temperature....
Set for the same temp and time as you would in a regular oven...

That's my theory, and I'm sticking to it until the facts beat the crap out of me..

Do you have a fire extinguisher down there? With all due respect, that basement looks like a death trap if you're gonna be doing any type of cooking down there.

Have you considered a CrockPot? My mom uses one. Pretty tasty stuff.

I do not know time and temp for oven. This is all new to me because I used to use a crockpot but it disentegrates the chicken and does not taste good making it in broth.

Al foil really helps with the cleanup in those toaster ovens. Otherwise, they work just great for everything!

Would it offend you if I offered to buy you a life insurance policy with myself as 90% beneficiary? You can designate the other 10% whatever way you'd like.

It needs to be longer than 15 minutes.

As someone said, temperature is temperature. Just make sure to check that the juices run clear when you slice into the various pieces. Alternatively, you can always chop them into smaller pieces to cook better/evenly.

Well, I'd recommend that you pick up some frozen, pre-cooked meals and use the microwave. Undercooked poultry has many potential problems.

If you do insist on trying to cook raw chicken in a toaster oven ...
1) wrap the chicken in aluminum foil or be prepared to take the oven apart to sanitize the chicken grease off of it
2) drumsticks will take about 45 minutes at 450, wings a bit less, breasts and thighs a bit more.
3) put some bbq sauce in the foil or be prepared for cardboard

After 75% of the above time, remove from oven (wear gloves), and slice the chicken to the bone. If it bleeds red, put it back in. Repeat until done.

Trisho I'm in my mother's basement because she don't like me or my charming personality much. She wants to avoid the embarassment I cause when in public. You by now must be picking up on her drift.
