Love the idea!

Not sure I could make it... (little detail like a 600 mile drive, work, etc...), but would sure as heck try!

Last one was at McKenna's in Long Beach:

Someone needs to pick an approximate date...

Fresno is the dead center of the state. Folks from San Diego and Mendocino. Cheap motels. Fresno with a

side trip to photograph the giant flowing waterfalls in Yosemite. Maybe Sequoia and Kings Canyon too.

Rafting is fun. Hookers and booze.

Thanks for posting the link, MikeF.

Mckenna's was wonderful for our get together. The food was great and the young ladies (particularly one) were extremely sweet!

I'm trying to figure a way to put the pictures on line again. does anyone still have them hosted somewhere?

I'd love it if there was a way to get some "out of town" members to join us this time. I'd appreciate any ideas on that.

So, basically we have to settle on a date and a place, although McKenna's worked out so well that I feel it should be considered for a rerun.

As far as date, I figure six to eight weeks out is enough time to put it together, but I need the date early enough to make a reservation for the space we'll need.

Perhaps oWC Larry will sponsor a prize like last time. Carm sure enjoys the BMW convertible he won! (Just kidding!)

So, please start posting your ideas about the date and the place and if you could host an out of town member.

Thanks for your thoughts,

GeneL

Oh yes… Sticky please! Whoops, I see that we got a sticky!

Me and the guy I'm headed with haven't nailed anything down, but I'd imagine I'd be in the LA area around June 1st or 2nd.

I can't guarantee anything, but either way a Denver one should still take place.

I'm all for having regional get togethers for the members,

I remember that the members in the New York area got inspired last time.

I can only say that, after as long as years in some cases, it was really wonderful to have a chance to see our "friends" from the forum face to face for a change. I have a lot of great memories from our last meet up.

I can't do this alone folks. Please RSVP by PM until I can reactivate the MR SoCal email address.

Fresno?

I really hate to say this, Go To Top, but the reason we chose Long Beach was that it was pretty much the center of the MR So Cal map.

If I had my way, we'd have it on Catalina!

Realistically, based on the attendance last time, I'd say that the Long Beach Area is a good choice, but I'm certainly open to whatever the members want to do.

How does Saturday, July 18th sound for the date?

Come on members, let's hear from you

Hi punkindrublik! Good to hear from you.

Haven't seen anything of you on the forum for quite a while.

Yep! You and Carm and his BW were the San Diego contingent.

It really was a great time, wasn't it?

It will be excellent to see you again. smiling smiley

artie67, I don't know if we can get everything organized before the end of June.

If I had a list of, at least, a dozen members, I could just say, "let's get together at McKenna's on June __th and we're done. But, so far I don't have enough "absolute" commitments.

I'm good with Saturday, June 27th if we can get everything lined up for then.

Once again, I must have more commitments to make this fly.

Don't forget that we'll be celebrating members' birthdays from the first six months of the year.

There will be CAKE!

geez Gene L, I hope you meant Mrs. Buzz was the particularly nice young lady... or if not, the waitress about her age (or less) w/ the killer cleavage would constitute an acceptable alternate choice for recipient of your comment. can we re-gift? the 1GB keychain we won last time hasn't come in terribly useful yet... [visualize ten 100MB zip disks taped together w/ a key ring sticking out of the tape...] heck, I'll even double the capacity (or more) before re-gifting. would have to split a little before 3PM on July 18th, so an early tee time would help, otherwise we wouldn't be able to finish the back nine.

Edit: would need a late start on June 27th, can make 1:30 if traffic isn't too bad...

Sometimes it is what it is...
and then there's times when it's really better.

LOL Buzz! And no re-gifting. grinning smiley

Seems like June 27th would be better for you and artie67?

Like I said it's all based on getting enough commitments, so I can firm up the date with McKenna's.

I'm figuring on McKenna's just to keep it simple, since everyone who was there last time seemed happy with the place.

Can I have some commitments for June 27th, please?

I live in Long Beach CA so I'm partial to this area but will drive somewhere else if needed. Too bad I didn't know about the first one, I would've went. I could have rode my bicycle to the restaurant, it's that close to my casa...

Have a great Memorial Day weekend Gang,

you would have had to ride very carefully, as our very own Harbourmaster did arrive on his beach cruiser bicycle, and provided escort for Mrs. Buzz, Baby Buzz and me from the parking lot... tough to squeeze more than one bike through the front door at a time; especially if that cute, young hostess is on duty...

Macresources SoCal Lunch at McKenna's on the Bay on June 27th 12:30 PM - STILL PROCRASTINATING?
Posted by: GeneL
Date: May 23, 2009 01:49AM
Here's a link to our posts from the last Macresources SoCal Lunch at McKenna's on the Bay on May 6th 12:30 PM [forums.macresource.com] so you can go back in time.

pqrst, you can see that we started at 12:30 PM and as I recall there were some folks still hanging out at 5 PM. Of course, you can leave any time that you need to. It's totally up to you.

If you read the posts you'll see that I offered to buy a drink for the member that traveled the farthest. I'm repeating that offer, chip!

Any of you who read your posts should remember how much fun we had, so please send me your commitments right away, so I can lock in a reservation at McKenna's. With a shorter lead time, getting your commitments is URGENT!

Please send your RSVPs to mr.socalug@cox.net so I can estimate how many we'll be this time.

Don't make me send the boys to your house!

BTW, for those who didn't attend the last Luncheon, most members brought their significant others and even a few brought their kids.

All are welcome, but PLEASE let me know so I can make the appropriate reservation.

Don't miss this one! RSVP to mr.socalug@cox.net right away hot smiley

Thanks in advance for your RSVPs folks. I'm too weary to chase after you this time, so please give me your support.

PS: I'm going to attempt to put a link to the pictures from the Macresources SoCal Lunch at McKenna's on the Bay on May 6th 12:30 PM on this thread soon.

Hey, this is the first I've heard of a previous get-together in LB, and I logon here almost every day.

I'd be all for joining a meeting in LB (I live here!) or some other southern Cal location.

Thanks GeneH. If you are going to attend, please confirm at mr.socalug@cox.net with your contact information and how many will be coming. That goes for everyone else, as well.

The poll shows ten of you who attended the last Luncheon plus four more that say they want to attend and two who want their arm twisted a bit have seen this topic. That's a total of sixteen. Double that if most, if not everyone brings a guest and we have enough to make the reservation.

Come on people, I need numbers to make the reservation. mr.socalug@cox.net

Don't make me beg. It's your Luncheon

Thanks!
