I never realized, during the entire run of "Strangers with Candy," that she was the sister David talked about in his books.

When she guest starred in "Sex with NYC" I finally put two & two together.

That show was so ridiculously weird. I wonder if it ever won any awards.

David Sedaris has at least 2 sisters and a brother I believe. 1 sister is a crackpot...I mean flamboyant...collector of umm stuff that she hoards in her apartment and the other is Amy. Both are weird, but one gets to go to award shows and things while the other doesn't. I strongly recommend "Me Talk Pretty One Day". I was really disturbed when I started reading it. I loved it at first then felt horrible when I realized it was based on David Sedaris' life. Then I felt better again when it occurred to me that at least he survived to write about it. Talk about a strange family. He had OCD in a bad way. Smoking saved his life because it kept one hand occupied with a cigarette and the other occupied with the lighter. I'm guessing that his why he lives in France.

A few years ago, Mrs. Poochie and I saw Amy Sedaris in The Book of Liz, the play she wrote with her brother about religious fundamentalists. She was a riot! Both her and her brother are real talents.

I really liked the scene in the subway, where the two American tourists were talking out loud about him assuming he was French (and that no one understands English in France). "Careful Martha! He's going to steal your purse! He probably hasn't bathed in weeks!"

I was disappointed that he didn't speak up and tell them what morons they were.

I'd've expected something more along the lines of "I don't want your purse, but your skin has an interesting texture to it. Is it real?".

I love Sedaris' writing. We caught his latest book promotion tour, and he read (can recall the title of) the story of the tourists who drop by when he's drowning a mouse. His delivery and timing make it even funnier.
