Refurb Macbook 2.4 ghz vs the "new" 2.13 Macbook? I'm confused

Refurb Macbook 2.4 ghz vs the "new" 2.13 Macbook? I'm confused. I thought the newest version of the white macbook is the 2.13 ghz and yet when I went to Apple's refurb section at the store, there were 2.4 ghz macbooks for less money. I'm confused. Why is the "new" updated model better with less ghz?

I'm just seeing the refurb 2.1 White for $749 in stock now, what price were you seeing for the refurb 2.4 White model?

Maybe a different architecture, such as a faster memory bus, better video, etc.

A white 2.4 would have to be a refurb early 2008 model, yes ?
Discontinued in october of 2008 ?

I don't think Apple has made a white 2.4ghz macbook with the GeForce9400 and the faster ram yet. Just a 2.0ghz and a 2.13ghz in the white flavor.

So if you are seeing a "new" 2.4ghz white macbook, it is probably the version I have with the GMA X3100.

FWIW, I love my macbook. I'd probably wait to see how Snow Leopard will run before any computer with the X3100.

After tax, shipping and rebate I paid $900 back in January 09 with a free, albeit junky, case. An 2.1ghz apple refurb for $750 is pretty good especially if if you can avoid tax and shipping and it comes with a 1-year warranty.

Wow, all the cheaper refurb macbooks are now gone... there were quite a few models yesterday when I looked. I think the 2.4ghz was either $849 or $899 with 160GB HD. Not positive as I looked at so many models and sites.
