Can I recycle weights?

Exercise weights and a weight bench. I just missed calling all the scrapyards and recycling places before they went home. But do you think they will take an all metal bench and the weights?

is there a freecycle list for your area? you'd be surprised at the junk that people will pick up.

the weights are still heavy, right?

I need the cash badly. Whether people buying the weights or me recycling them. I have been trying to sell them for a while now without any takers.

If you sell to a scrap metal dealer make sure you get rid of anything that is not metal (plastic caps, wood seat etc...)

Also separate the metal types if you can (iron, steel etc...) If you don't they will only pay mixed metal prices
which is the lowest price of all. If it is sorted they will pay each metals value separately. YMMV

Metal is metal. They should accept it. But the prices per pound for scrap iron will not leave you with much cash.

You could send it to one of those Cash for Gold outfits in their prepaid envelopes, just to mess with them.

haha. I just called them and they pay $.06 per pound. If put in a hundred pounds of weights I would only get $6. That sucks. I think I will take another shot at selling them. Even if I halve the price I will make much more than this.

There's more money to be had with body disposal.
Those weights could be repurposed.
