Where to get French magazines in California?

No, not those French magazines ....

My son has a project for school in which he needs to clip things out of a French magazine or newpaper.

Of course, this would be simple if we lived in France, but alas, we are stuck here in San Jose.

Sometimes I wonder if the teachers even think about the logistics of their assignments ...

Borders usually carries foreign magazines. It's been a long time, but I believe Paris Match was a decent periodical.

He may, of course, encounter clear images of vive la difference, but c'est la vie !

Would a print out from an online source, like lemonde.fr, work? If not, you might check a local college library. They wouldn't let you cut it out, but you could zerox.

Thanks. I'll check them after work. The closest book store is Barnes and Noble and they had nothing French. Lots of Spanish though.

I knew someone would pull a 'Oui' reference!

A group of us marauding suburban 14 year olds would scavenge local dumpsters in hopes of finding where someone ditched their 'stash'. smiling smiley

California's a big state.
How far are you willing to travel?
Next time, narrow the geographic area down, so we don't all list places in Eureka, while you're in La Jolla.

If you're in the Bay Area, there's Delauer's in Oakland.
If they're still open, they would be a safe bet to carry that kind of thing.

It is over the hill in Santa Cruz, but this joint has one of the largest periodical selection in the bay area...

May be Moe's in Berkely...

Or City Lights in SF...

Have you tried SJSU?

you are limited to 10 rd magazines in Kalifornia, so your french MAT 49 submachine gun will be pretty inefectual. [world.guns.ru] though the FAMAS is kinda cool looking [world.guns.ru]
