OK to interrupt Apple Hardware test with shut down?

I started a Hardware Test disk on my new (refurb) MacBook and it is taking more time than I expected and more time than I can wait. There are storms moving into the area so I wanted to shut it down and unplug it before I left but neither the Stop Test button nor the key combo seems to interrupt the tests. Will it do any harm to hold down the power button to stop the process?

Nope, its perfectly fine to stop it at any time. Just force the machine to shut down.
