It's Energy Star Tax Free Weekend in North Carolina!

My sister is building a new house in Winston-Salem and needed a Washer and
Fridge so she went for it, no tax and Lowe's beat HHGregg's killer ad deals by a nice
amount! She went ahead and got a dryer too but not an Energy Star one, not sure
any dryers are Energy Star compliant.

My wife and I went to buy a Ceiling Fan, for our new addition, because the Lowe's
ad said Ceiling Fans were included in the tax-free deal but for a Ceiling Fan to be
Energy Star compliant it can't have a light kit, bummer!

Of all of the "good ideas" that spread throughout the country, why can't a tax free buying period be one of them?! I'm so jealous.

Our Tax-Free day was cancelled .

We were also blessed with a 25% sales tax increase and an increased booze and restaurant tax.
