LensCrafters did good...

I'm usually pretty satisfied with the service at LensCrafters.

Today, they went above and beyond and I thought that it deserved mention.

I picked up new glasses 3 months ago. They were awful. The frame was too heavy and left dents in my nose, the shape was unflattering and the way the lens conformed to the frame distorted my peripheral vision and gave me headaches.

(Before you judge, try buying glasses when you can't see properly without your glasses and have to rely on someone else to tell you whether the new ones look right.)

I stupidly kept trying to adapt to the new glasses past the 30-day return mark and assumed that I was stuck with them.

Today, I brought an old frame into the store and asked them if they could take the lenses from the new glasses and carve them down to fit the old frame. (Sometimes they do stuff like that.) When I told them the back-story, they offered to take back the new glasses and give me an even exchange on another pair with lenses.

I ended up with something much better with no additional cost. The screwup was mine. The delay in bringing the glasses back was entirely my fault. It was a full two months after any obligation of theirs had ended.

Damned decent of them.

Bingo! That's the exact problem I have. I'm sure there must have been a Seinfeld episode about this conundrum...if not, Jerry should get the group back together (minus racist Michael Richards) and cover this topic.

Yeah. George ended up with a pair of women's glasses.

I think that the next time I go shopping for a new pair, I will bring my camera with me so I can later view how I look in different styles.

Oh, just admit you've worn sneakers with a Tux. :-)

The Lenscrafters and PearlVision here both $uck.
Plenty of competion , so they should be trying harder.
Wanna hear an employee whine about replacing a screw repeatedly (twice a year)?
Wanna hear a dum8itch try to tell you a screw is a rivet and can't be replaced ?
Even after unscrewing the "rivet" on the other side to show her so she can go get a duplicate so you can reoplace it yourself ?
Come to the Lenscrafters here.

Much better. And no distortion at the edges of the lenses.
