Now that I'ts gotten cooler, and I'm using the heat, my skin is getting dry. It's especially bad on my hands.

Are there any good non petroleum based lotions?

The name of this product is unavoidably comical...but, no joke, it's the best skin lotion. Highly recommended.

Day Use

No-Crack Day Use Hand Cream is an elegant, fragrant, quick-drying, non-greasy hand cream that keeps hands soft and beautiful. No-Crack Day Use Hand Cream contains allantoin, which stimulates healthy tissue formation and wound healing, and softens the outer layers of the skin allowing water absorption. Available in 1/2 oz., 4oz., 8oz., and 16oz. sizes.

Night Use

No-Crack Night Use Hand Cream is for dry, cracked, rough hands. It replaces the natural oils of the skin. This cream is to be used at night when it will not be washed off, but will have time to be absorbed and help the skin stay soft. No-Crack Night Use Hand Cream can also be used on broken cuticle, rough elbows, and calluses on the feet. Night Use Hand Cream contains oils, lanolin, the ultimate moisturizing emollient, urea, a moisturizer and preservative, allantoin and other helpful ingredients. Available in 1/4oz., 2oz., 4oz., 8oz., and 16oz. sizes.

All Purpose

No-Crack All-Purpose Hand Cream is for those who need extra hand care in one cream. It is a delightful all-around hand cream. All Purpose is quickly absorbed in the skin. It softens, moisturizes, and relieves dryness and roughness. All Purpose Hand Cream contains lanolin, allantoin, and urea. Available in 1/2oz., 2oz., 4oz., 8oz., and 16oz. sizes.

For the last three winters I've been using Gold Bond Ultimate Healing Lotion with aloe. I haven't had a problem with my fingers cracking since I started using it. Initially it has a bit of a greasy feel, but that goes away pretty quickly. I use it only twice a day, once in the morning when my hands have gotten dried out from showering/washing hair, and then I put on more just before I go to bed at night. Other lotions I tried through the years didn't do a decent job even when I used them several times a day.

I use Shi-Kai borage oil lotion. It keeps my eczema at bay in the winter.

I really like that product. My skin doesn't crack, but in cold winter mornings (yes, we get something like that in CA) my hands are dry enough that gripping things like a pen are awkward.

A dap of VIC fixed all that with no trace of oil or greasiness. For some reason I didn't find it some time ago and have been using Lubridurm and that stuff is horrible.

Thanks to Mr. Downtown, I see it's alive and well (and now ordered).

Thanks!

Bath and Body Works makes terrific body lotion but the scents aren't terribly masculine. you could buy a bottle of the Warm Vanilla Sugar and go round smelling like a cookie. The silk radiance lotion is absolutely fantastic.

Don't know how wide-spread the distribution might be but I really like Udderly Smooth - Udder Cream. Available at CVS and Walgreen drugstores among others. Round jar is easily recognizable... white with spots like a cow. Not a lotion - very soft cream. Non-greasy - non-staining. I learned about it in an internet forum and really like it.
Check it on google.

Gosh, RAMd, where do you live that you need to order it? I didn't know there was any store larger than a Walgreen's that didn't sell Vaseline Intensive Care lotion.

You might want to check out Coconut Oil. Just pure coconut oil. It's supposed to be great for your skin.

We tested a number of them and like Aveeno. It uses oatmeal along with other typical ingredients.

My dermatologist had me use Keri, Alpha Keri in shower. I used to be able to peel sheets of dead dermis off of my body. Vaseline in the nasal passages to eliminate cracking and bleeding there, applied with a Qtip
