Need answer. Update. It's rural water that's cloudy.

I cooked potatoes and vegetables with it and added it to roast. It's coming out of the tap cloudy, like it's 1/3 milk or something. No smell or taste and it clears up when it stands a few minutes. Our neighbor at the end of the line say theirs is clear. The rural water office is closed.

I don't know whether to eat this stuff or not or whether to call everyone in to eat.

It sounds like air in the water. Run a glass full and let it sit for a few minutes and see if it clears up.

Cloudy water is usually caused by tiny air bubbles.

Google "cloudy tap water" and you will get lots of explanations.

Also,in the spring, lots of cities clean the water pipes by opening the water mains. Air gets introduced to the system which can cause water color changes. Safe to use.

New house filter? Any work on local water lines?

Sounds like air bubbles to me... I get the same thing on a new filter on my household water filter (I get water from a spring, and run it through a filter system to remove the dirt).

It's air bubbles. I had never seen it before and haven't been on RR long. I was cooking and getting ready for a guest and didn't think about Googling.
