Default Folder

Back in OS 9 I used Default Folder to maintain a little control over my dialogue boxes. What's recommended for OS X? I sometimes get a little frustrated with navigation issues.

So johnc, all those disks are partitions? How big is your harddrive?

I love default folder X, one of my must have apps.

Upgrading to OSX provided me a good starting point for eliminating all my "extraneous" software hacks and extensions and add ons and whatever. But the ONE thing I kept is Default Folder. It is my ONLY must have app for OSX. Other add ons (for me anyway) fall into the "nice to have" category. But Default Folder is the only must have. IMO, of course.

Well thanks, johnc, that was embarrassingly obvious. What version of X are you using it with? No issues?

bfd has used Default Folder for so long that when he works with someone else on their Mac or PC it's hard not to wonder how they get along without it.

They've done a good job of keeping up with revisions in the system software, and the current version, 2.0.4 works fine with Mac OS 10.4.3 and below.
