Windows questions: Non bootable recovery disc

Nuked an eMachine's HD using DBAN. Able to access its BIOS settings. Configured CD-ROM drive to be the first device accessed once the machine is booted up. Inserted the OEM recovery disc. Error, "No operating system available". The machine had no problem accessed the CD on which I burnt a copy of DBAN. Any helpful suggestion will be appreciated.

Make sure that OEM disc is really wiped off good. Even if there aren't scratches on it, just some smudges will make them not be read correctly. OEM (Windows) discs seem to be way more sensitive to just that sort of thing, for some odd reason.

(and I take it that it is a CD/DVD drive and the Windows disc matches up)
