Who Gets Credit ? Teen Pregnancies at an all time low !

"A report released Tuesday by the National Center for Health Statistics showed the teenage birth rate for American teenagers fell 9% from 2009 to 2010. The national level, 34.3 teenage births per 1,000 women between the ages of 15-19, is the lowest since 1946."

(Personally I think it's related to economic times... the kids don't have jobs, so they don't have the cash to go out on the town and 'hook up' as frequently. )

After reading your comment, I think it is the parents don't have jobs and can't afford to go on vacation and let the kids have the house for a two week party. drink smiley Another version is that one parent is home more often and preventing after school hook ups.

Social networks!! Not only are kids getting driver's licenses at an older age, they're delaying sex too! No need to socialize in person when you can do it via the internet or phone smiling smiley

oddly my wife was complaining last night that we never see our teenage son anymore because he is always in his room texting his girlfriend. That they never talk or see each other.

I pointed out that the 12 miles between them while texting pretty much eliminated the possibility of us becoming grandparents.


You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands...
- For example, if they are wrapped around your throat she's probably slightly upset.

A report released last year found that the rate of teenagers having sex decreased slightly, following an overall trend of decline in teenage sex in the last 20 years. Recent data has found increased use of contraception, such as condoms and hormonal birth control.

“These trends may have contributed to the recent birth rate declines,” wrote Hamilton and a co-author.

The short answer is that teens appear to be delaying sex or using contraception.
