Yes the Zimmerman case was over hyped. However, it got him arrested. Deservedly. So all the brouhaha was worth it in this case.
...Assuming that he's guilty.

Huh? No.
I think that harassing, torturing, bankrupting and making pariahs from innocent people is bad, even if that's the way that our legal justice system works itself out.
It's only "deserved" if he's guilty.

In your mind it's only deserved if guilty. Not mine.

What I appreciate is that samintx makes her point, and then comes back to the thread to respond to points made by other posters. That way, she actually engages posters in discussion in a thoughtful manner.
Oh, wait.....

I'd have been kind of curious to know if she thought they were similar, or not. Till was mentioned far too often during the Zimmerman controversy, which kind of upset me because that was a truly horrific crime and a gross miscarriage of justice and I didn't want to see it reduced to an analogy for anything let alone the Trayvon Martin case.

There are SOME parallels. An essay contrasting Trayvon Martin to Emmett Till doesn't necessarily mean that she was intending to equate them. By definition, she'd be citing the differences in the cases.

How about just ending this silly thread. The OP was a ridiculous piece of troll bait irrelevant to the issues in the Trayvon Martin case. It's a travesty that the most ridiculous and nonsensical posts are the ones that attract the most attention. Just say no to feeding the troll.
