Student kicked off campus just before graduation for, among other things, watching "Glee".

OK, I don't watch the show myself (because I deem it vapid and tweeny), but really ?

There's a lot more to that story than watching Glee, in fact that doesn't appear to be the reason he got kicked off campus.
Sounds as though he embarrassed the school by going to the media and to social media about a sex abuse scandal and cover-up involving a former board member, among other things.
It's actually a very interesting first amendment case and it'll be interesting to see how it progresses.

How is this a first amendment case? Neither federal nor state governments are involved, a private organization like BJU can limit the speech or free expression of it's students as much or as little as it wants.

From the sound of thing it will be a contractual case. But yes... Expecting Christian behaviour from BJU is like expecting a refund from the guy who sells stuff from the back of a van.

The student thinks his first amendment rights were violated. If he can show he was treated differently than other students at the school and that in fact his punishments for watching TV at Starbucks were actually retaliation for exposing an embarrassing scandal, then I think he might have a case.

When I went away to college I received a tuition waiver because my instrument was one the school needed. I wonder how they handle that at BJU?
