Unless there's some fundamental flaw in my understanding of these events, I don't think there's a distinction to be made between these murders and the "people dying in the Mexican drug wars."
I thought it was significant that they took someone into custody, and have to wonder about the fate of the soldiers (and their families) who have allowed their faces to be filmed/photographed.

What's significant is that this a war we precipitated and facilitated, also the number of dead yearly is significantly more than 10,000. Change the outmoded US approach to drugs and save a lot more than Mexican lives.

The US population of drug addicts has effectively bankrolled a defacto criminal takeover of the Mexican government. It's like some weird CIA plot movie come true.
