Fifa rules beer is essential to the sport

"Earlier this year Fifa's General Secretary, Jerome Valcke, made it clear that the right to sell beer must be enshrined in legislation on the World Cup in the Brazilian Congress."

The World Cup rests on selling beer? Brazil stopped the sale of alcohol in stadiums to reduce violence in the stands. Fifa knew of the ban when Brazil was awarded the cup, they could have chosen another location. I just find it to be hugely overstepping Fifa's primary role.

I'm sure that Budweiser being a major Fifa sponsor has nothing to do with it. Well I guess it is better than those damn Vuvuzela horns from the last World Cup.

I still don't get how they could have made budweiser the official beer of the World Cup when it was played in GERMANY. There should have been riots.

There nearly were when it was announced that Bud would be the ONLY beer available - cooler heads prevailed. But I too could never understand why Bud was chosen <cough$$$$$$cough>

As an alcohol delivery vehicle Bud works well, better than it does as a beer.

So do vodka suppositories.

And they are probably more enjoyable.

There should have been riots.

Riots? Football? Soccer?
First time I've ever heard those two things mentioned together.
