Actually, a pretty apt comparison. In the twisted logic of today, you should be able to buy AppleCare after your computer breaks and I should be able to call Apple and buy AppleCare for my 26 year old Macintosh.

Apple (and any other company) should simply stand behind what they sell for a reasonable number of years for a price that's built into the cost of the product. You shouldn't have to pay extra for coverage beyond 365 days.

So you're perfectly happy with living in a world with an underclass who can't afford applecare or those technicians and whose macs suffer with chronic problems for their entire lives and then die at a much younger age than they might reach if they had access to Applecare?

I have a Mac. It never gets sick. But if it does ever succumb to illness, I'll just get another!

(This post bears no relevance to my life. In reality I milk every drop out of my machines resorting to (edit) self applied transplants and transfusions when needed.)

I think those who abuse their macs with cigarrette smoke or by pouring liquour into them should lose their coverage and have to pay out of pocket.

No, that only happens in the current non-system of healthcare (aka the republican healthcare system).
