The "O" 3 Solution

Opt Out of Obamacare.

Yes, I am repeating myself (from like a year and a half ago), but with Republican's head exploding because of Justice Robert's decision, I honestly think the solution is quiet simple.

The ACA says you MUST have health insurance.
If you already get health coverage through your employer- no tax (penalty).
If you already purchase your own health care plan - no tax (penalty).
If you do not have any health insurance, you are required to get some - tax (penalized).
Why?
In the long run, it is cheaper to practice preventative health care than to treat catastrophic illness.

To the 46% of Americans who do not like the ACA, they should be given the one time option of Opting Out of the ACA program. There's no going back. And by that I mean you don't get ANY health care services, ever, for whatever health problems you have. Simple.

You want to be independent of governmental interference in your health care? Fine. Do it.

No more inoculations for your kids at school. Don't come the ER when you crush your arm under the car you were working on. Don't call for a municipal or county ambulance to take you there. Don't expect government rehab/retraining programs to get you back to where you were before your accident. And while you're at it, stop taking any drugs that might help your condition that were developed through the CDC or Federal Research Grants to Colleges and Universities.

You don't want to be responsible? You don't want to be taxed? Fine.
Get out and stay out.
Simple.

You like simple? How about letting people run their own lives. Get the HR out of health insurance, give me my own money and I will go out and buy my own. I won't need your silly "one time option" either.

I know you. You wouldn't buy insurance. You'd buy a truck and think you were terribly clever.

So Bill Gates opts out, but can't get health care even though he can affor to write a check? How stupid is that?

IIRC, catastrophic plans go away.

Those were popular with younger, healthier folks.

And in the end the healthcare industry gets all our money... It's STILL the punch line.

This is always my main complaint...the "industry" of health.
I have no problem paying the doctors and nurses and ambulance drivers i.e. the people who actually help me or my loved ones when home medical efforts have failed, but I am reluctant to pay the clerks and pencil pushing middle managers and CEO's of insurance companies.
I don't want insurance, I want healthcare.

BTW I like the thrust of the OP. If you don't like it...get out! Someone said that to me recently (...Avenger)

I didn't say get out. I just have an issue with immigrants who step on everything and everybody to leave their country and come here and then immediately start questioning why isn't America more like this or that country. WTH.

That would be true if you dream day and night how this country could be more like(fill in the blank). We are driving the wrong cars, use too much energy, eat too much sugar, don't buy enough Volts and fly too many drones into sovereign territories( scratch that last one. For now).
