I have to wonder if this thread would have received more outrage on this forum if Dimora had an "R" attached to his name instead of a "D"?

What are people supposed to be outraged about? What did the guy do?
The link talks about his sentence but says very little about his actual crimes. I did hear that the court had determined the economic cost of his crimes was $450,000. That's serious to a county, but 28 years in jail?

Plus, you'll find Mac that local political issues rarely get as much attention here as national ones. If you're going to do a thread about every state/local official who gets into legal trouble, there will be dozens a day and not much else.
Not that they aren't interesting, but speaking for myself, I'm just not that invested when it's local and outside my own state.

EDIT: I had quite a lot to say about Blago, as did other Dems here. His crimes had national implications.

Rustbelt's worldview of political wrongdoing ends at the county line, since the neighboring county is Republican. His tunnel vision almost never dwells on his own state GOP's misadventures.
