who is Tom Morello and should we care what he thinks?

Tom Morello is in the band Rage Against the Machine, which Paul Ryan says is one of his favorite bands. So Morello has a perfect right to let people know that the feeling is not mutual.

To which I say 'that's nice'. And then I say "can someone explain why this is so critically relevant to the political process that the media has to run around broadcasting it' ?

I'm sure the Beatles really didn't like that Charles Manson thought their music was a call to action.

I also find it hysterially amusing that the 'theme song' to Rush Limbaugh's radio show was "My City Was Gone"... the lyrics are a clear paen against over development and commercialization.

Rolling Stone is a musically-oriented magazine which reports on things which musicians do and say. They also publish a lot of political news. When music and politics meet up in a case such as this, I would say that's a perfect story for them to cover.

Of coruse, in this day and age, that's all automagical. So I guess... what the heck.

I've always liked Rolling Stone's reporting style. It's very connected and entertaining.

When's the last time Tom Morello went to Afganistan to entertain the troops? No guts, no glory.

There's a reason that very few artists of any kind are conservative, and the reasons for that seem lost on conservatives, which I guess is what makes stories like this so entertaining (and frequent.)
