FoxNews actually calls a liar a liar. I give you one Paul Ryan.

Surely the site must have been hacked because the article isn't what I'd call kind to Mr. Ryan. At least not as far as letting him get away with his lies. Giving credit where credit is due...

Very nice synopsis of Mr. Pants-on-Fire's speech. She did overlook this:

Quote

[Obama] created a bipartisan debt commission [, the Simpson-Bowles commission]. They came back with an urgent report. He thanked them, sent them on their way, and then did exactly nothing.

But Ryan was on that commission, and he voted against that “urgent report.” Also, the president did not do “exactly nothing”: The White House released a debt plan last September, despite Republicans’ best attempts to pretend it doesn’t exist. Finally, if the crisis is so urgent, why does Ryan’s own budget proposal not balance the budget until the 2030s?

Can anyone think of any previous prime time convention speech that was so dishonest?

I can't.

It's a new tact to take the candidate's misleading 30 second ads and spin them into an entire speech. An unfortunate new tact.

And it's being dissected across the blogosphere. I think by the end of this week, it's going to be a speech that the Republicans will try to forget.

I love to watch Obama deny he is not cutting Medicare.

He;s a politician.
It's what they do.
No one wants to hear the truth.
Regardless the lies offset by even more lies people still hear what they want to hear.
Just whatever supports their belief system.
May as well start believing in honest car salespeople as well if you fantasize otherwise.

When the discussion of the VP nominee's speech is how many LIES were in it, it's not a good thing.

Even Sarah Palin's nomination speech was relatively free of blatant lying. Of course it was also relatively free of substance, but it was well-played, and positively received.

Could it be that Paul Ryan is a bigger problem than the Snowbilly Grifter????

They still tiptoe around the semantics.

Instead of calling them what they are, they play it safe and call them "factual errors".

A person makes "factual errors" when speaking spontaneously without references or resources. When they willingly include untruths in a PREPARED SPEECH, there is only one word that describes them.

LIES

By internet you mean the places YOU go. Medicare cuts are real. Even Obama does not deny it. He just calls them "reduced" spending. As to that car plant, they were open until April of 2009.

"Assembly work continued at the Janesville Assembly until April 2009, "

It shut down on Obama's watch. Why do you make it so easy?

In Janesville, Wis., GM will cease making SUVs on Tuesday, putting 1,200 workers out of work. The plant will stay open until June to produce trucks along with Isuzu, but only about 50 workers will remain employed for that.

JANESVILLE — Full-size sport utility vehicle production has ended at the local General Motors plant, but medium-duty truck production is continuing—not starting—in Janesville.

And it likely will continue into May, when the lights finally go off in the facility that has been producing vehicles since 1923.

When GM officials announced last June that SUV production would cease in Janesville, they also said that medium-duty truck production would conclude by the end of 2009, or sooner if market conditions dictate.

Obama said his policies would keep the plant open. The plant has been shuttered ever since. End of story.

Wisconsin plant is still closed but Mexican plants are humming. UAW leadership is a knife in the back of workers.
