It's a bit of entrapment but politicians have to expect that in these types of situations. The customer is surely not the face most people associate with gay marriage. Wish this was out in more places. There are a lot of ordinary, seemingly "heterosexual" people with long term same sex partners. Not the flaming gays often portrayed.

mick e remembers seeing that video, but he didn't see the ending interview after Romney left. mick e's betting that many Americans will come to a similar conclusion after getting to know this strident, disconnected oligarch.

That was the first time I saw that. The video is better than the transcript because you can hear the man's sense of betrayal by this politician. He fought for his country now all he wants is what should be his, respect for his sexuality and equal rights under the law.

Facebook time...let's go viral!!!

Missed that, Ted.

No biggy at all, just thought I'd point out that it had been discussed before. Since some people might have missed it back then, no harm in bringing it up again. :-)

You'd think he would have learned his lesson the last time this happened!

The only thing that can be said for Romney is that he didn't hem and haw about how he sees marriage. He didn't query the veteran as to why he was asking or try to feel him out before giving an answer. He came right out and said that he believed marriage should only be between a man and a woman.

That makes it easier for people to decide whether or not they think like Romney and whether or not they should support him.

Aren't you the resident expert in naming bigots? Shouldn't you find it within your vocabulary to name Gov. Romney a bigot? How about narrow-minded? I would have thought you could say much more about Gov. Romney given your propensity to label people.

I don't really have much to say about Romney. I'm not like some of the people here who feel a need to enrage themselves over anything and everything that a candidate they're not likely to support does.

But do you actually need me to call Romney a bigot?

Better question: Do you feel that the government should actively deny civil rights?

You sure like to throw stones at others; must be a struggle to be so pious and above the fray.

I don't think it was because he was being purposely straightforward. I think it was because at first, he assumed he knew more about the guy than he did and didn't realize the guy was gay. Oops. he had no choice at that point. He was stuck. I could be wrong about this but it's unlikely.

At least his handler didn't let him sit there clueless like President Bush's did in that classroom on 9/11.

That wasn't Governor Romney responding, that was candidate Romney responding. After all is said and done Romney defended gay rights when he ran for governor and then adopted the position that would make him acceptable to the religious wing of the GOP when he ran for their nomination.

What's hard to understand about that?

Flip-flop, flip-flop, tick-tock, just another day on the campaign trail.
