I'm looking forward to the release of the classified report in 30 years to settle this once and for all.

Public weenie waving in the Spec Ops community.... not a good idea. Theoretically these guys should be arrested and charged with exposing classified information.

Either that or it's a 'long game' and setting a trap for US based Al Quaeda operatives by dangling bait.

O'Neil's father's neighbors are happy to know they are well-protected by the "painted bulleye" angry villagers smiley

What I don't get.... granted I don't have the depth of insight into the military that someone who's served, or grew up in a military family might... but isn't there supposed to be a "team" ethic that trumps everything else? It wasn't like the whole group was shooting at OBL and this guy "won"-- they were carrying out their assignments, working as a team and he happened to be the one in a position to take the shot.
The whole thing kind of stinks. I'll give you an alternate theory about what's behind this cbelt-- someone somewhere along the line wants to make damn sure that any credit the Obama administration might have been given for getting the job done is long forgotten.

qfe

Note that FAUX jumped this after the election so that no Democrats would get any boost from being reminded of who took care of business.
