And how many have been banned here?

They spank you here? Is that why they call it OWC? I guess I can handle that as long as they don't hire technicians from Abu Ghraib or Guantanamo. Some of the guests there had electricity brought to their private parts before they got it to their homes. Do I need to ground my keyboard?

It's all a popularity contest among people, many of whom are short-bus types anyway.

You're a loser here just like all the other forums.

Quite a first post. Should I be honored? I'm not surprised, though, not at all.

By the way, you need a locative preposition, like at to make your sentence work:

I was temporarily banned "over there." It was during the "do not mention their name" period of the Inquisition.

It really didn't matter because this place was just getting up off the ground and wasn't it great to see a forum run by a real Mac enthusiast!

I still venture to the other place to check out the homepage for deals but I seldom post on the forum.

After being banned from dealmac, Styles migrated to AppleSwitcher, where he bad-mouthed dealmac.

After being banned from AppleSwitcher, Styles migrated back to dealmac (using a different nick), where he bad-mouthed AppleSwitcher.

After following the crowd here, Styles is back to bad-mouthing dealmac.

Give it time, OWC.

One time, back in 1990 or 1991, they banned me from the Motorsports forum on CompuServe for posting race results in a subject heading.

I was back the next day with a new user-name (72624,471).

I have e-mail older than some kids in high school.

I was given a one month ban over at DM, and really "left" after that. I think I might have posted once. Recently, as we neared MWSF, i posted over there with a new nick. I think it was right after the latest change in format, because everyone was complaining. (Ironically, I like their new format.)

Anyway, I quickly discovered that the cool kids were hanging out over here, so I haven't been back to deal mac. I don't have anything against dm, BM, or anybody involved with dm. I don't think they were very passionate about Apple or really cared about the community, but they offered us a nice little watering hole, for which I'm grateful.

I never got active with AS. It seemed too much like home for the banned the times I checked it out.

Guitarman, it's a public forum. He has a right to be here just as you have a right to be here. It would make it so much nicer for most of the rest of us if you all would just take this squabble back to AS.

Turn on the ignore feature and give it a rest, please.

I should have known my attempt at self-deprecating humor would serve as catalyst for rekindling olde feuds. (sigh) It's good to be home. What are family get-togethers without a chair-tossing rumble?

Now go to your corners, reload, and come out firing. This is more fun than any fps. Instead of cyber-gattling guns we use vowels, consonants and punctuation. I appreciate the effort everyone has put into their verbal violence, but I'm still willing to bet I'm the first one the bouncer tosses to the sidewalk.

Some call it a skill learned through constant practice, but I think it more likely a personality flaw that inevitably alienates whatever room I find myself in. If, in that state, I divert you from slashing at each other long enough to focus on a common enemy, bonding in that oneness, then my work here will be done.

As you were. :-)

My log in ceased to exist (wrong password) at DealMac during the great July 4th purge. I logged in as LBS and begged for a reason or response from the ivory tower. A frogger chat or two with fellow DealMac patrons cleared my head. Almost a year later I was able to sign up as Bernie again and I did so. I have thought of all the posts and what I might have done. Bottom line me thinks was that I was a defender of free moderate speech.

Looking back I think that it started to go down hill with the loss of the wise and gifted moderator The Løpe. There was a great unity after his death followed by chaos.

Guitarman AND Styles are banned from AppleSwitcher.

Yes, I'd say that AS is about as evolved as your writing skills.

Being banned from there isn't exactly a resume-breaker.

Matt provided a fifteen-page Roman circus type spectacle in "discussing" my banning. Get real, people. If you really want someone gone, you quietly remove them and announce their non-grata status, if you must. As "dude" said in the thread, "Last one to post in this thread is a flame-baiting attention who®e." These people can't shut up and won't stay away because they lack a proper target for abuse within easy reach. One begins to feel like little Carol Anne Freeling in "Poltergist II."

And now for some words from RgrF, the man at the screen door.

Is this the new campaign to test the limits here CruSty? You suggested above that there might have been a more diplomatic way or perhaps Matt could have been quieter about telling you that you were no longer welcome at AppleSwitcher.

Then you pick off the scab and start it festering again over here. Is it your aim to test the limits of every forum you join? Why?

You have a confederacy of forum denizens who dislike you to the point of mania. If that's your purpose then its all egotistical, a virtual Hatfields/McCoy. No plural on that 'cause you (the McCoy) are alone. You don't have anyone in your corner, at least no one that I can see.

This is not an accident, a mistake or is it a misunderstanding. It a constuct of yours. How long before you're out there inventing new nicks to get back in this forum?

If you'd just leave things alone. Not every post needs an acerbic reply. Do what you proclaim you will, be a man of your word and ignore the attacks.

Sustain that over enough time, even oTTo will tire; Keef I think maybe you're wedded to for the foreseeable future.

Lastly, stop with the victim act. We've traded punches before and I've been at the receiving end of your acidic keyboard. I just stopped responding to you, that's really all you need do.

Unless you really do crave the spotlight like in: "I don"t care what you say about me in that gossip column, just SPELL MY NAME RIGHT", you can stop it right there, just go in a different direction.

Styles trots out his Victim, Grammar Nazi, and Egotist personas in a single post -- a rarely seen trifecta! Lucky us. It's a wonder we were spared the I'm Slowly Dying persona.

Roger, it's not going to stop until Styles is gone. Gone, as in "the cardiomyopathy finished the job" gone. Until then, we will continue to be treated to Styles' dribblings of self-importance, perhaps because they are the only way he has of convincing himself that he still matters, somehow, somewhere.

Let it be noted that Styles was first to administer abuse in this thread, with his dealmac class photo, short-bus comment, and underhanded reference to unnamed persons. Can't shut up, indeed.

Let it also be noted that when I responded to that post with a simple and truthful observation about Styles' past actions, he replied by calling me a bitch. Not that I can't handle that -- he's more than welcome to bring it, to the extent that he is able -- but, given such behavior, one wonders where Styles comes off complaining about abuse handed out by others.

Sticks'n'stones may bruise my cojonés but pixels will never hurt me. I thought the Dealmac class pic was cute. Why did others take such offense? I'm really sorry I started this, though I never thought this would take such an ugly turn. Can a moderator delete this thread? Guitarman - banned from AppleSwitcher.
Loki/Refurbvirgin - banned from AppleSwitcher.

Never.

I don't mind being abrasive, but I try to avoid rude and crude insults or disrespect to the owners/operators who provide us (free of any fee) a place to post. I wish that standard was followed a bit more in some fora, but, then again, I'm an old fart with old-fashioned ideas.

With all due respect Roger, you spend far more time responding to the obese mental case here than I do. I might drop a snarky remark or two in response to yet another of the fat one's attacks, while you keep authoring large missives like the one above.

Why waste your time asking the fat psychotic troll reasonable questions? You already know him for the gun-pulling, homophobic, ebonics-spouting racist stalker that he is, and I'm sure you're far too intelligent to actually believe you can change him.

Right?
