...when one thinks that Cruz would be a better President than what we've got.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) called on the Department of Justice to investigate a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Va. that turned violent and left three dead and dozens injured.

"The Nazis, the @#$%&, and white supremacists are repulsive and evil, and all of us have a moral obligation to speak out against the lies, bigotry, ant-semitism, and hatred that they propagate," Cruz said in a statement.

Having watched the horrifying video of the car deliberately crashing into a crowd of protesters, I urge the Department of Justice to immediately investigate and prosecute this grotesque act of domestic terrorism," he continued.

Michael Eric Dyson has named it the "bigotocracy." He's spot on.

President Lyndon Baines Johnson once argued, “If you can convince the lowest white man he’s better than the best colored man, he won’t notice you’re picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he’ll empty his pockets for you.”

We have a bigoted billionaire-@#$%&-president who has done precious little for the white working class whose resentment fueled his rise. They have emptied their ethical and economic pockets in support of him even though he turned his back on them the moment he entered the Oval Office. The only remnant of his leadership they have to hold on to is the folklore of white nationalist sentiment, and xenophobic passion, that offer them psychic comfort if little financial stability.

Pretty much all the nimrods who ran against Trump posted far better tweets, some with mild rebukes of the President. The fact is, Trump is the least emotionally or mentally equipped of them all when it comes to trying to understand 1. this country's values and 2. the pain of strangers.

“Every day, I come home with a spring in my step,” he said to the wildly enthusiastic group of grass-roots volunteers and to the cameras. “We’ve got to work together to stop the Obama agenda and take this country back.”
as quoted in the NY Times August 2, 2012

Well, at least he got one thing right.
