Hurricane Irma Just Pounded Donald Trump’s Caribbean Home, And Is Heading for Mar-A-Lago

As the survivors of Hurricane Harvey were just beginning to take stock of their losses, Hurricane Irma lined up right behind it. On Wednesday, the storm rampaged across the Caribbean island of St. Martin, which is where president Donald Trump owns an 11-bedroom walled estate.

The property is currently on the market for $16.9 million, having dropped from $28 million after it found no buyers. According to the Washington Post, the status of the property and any potential damages to it are unknown at this time. However the Post report cites French government officials as reporting "serious damage" to the area. "We know that the four most solid buildings on the island have been destroyed, which means that more rustic structures have probably been completely or partially destroyed," according to French Interior Minister Gerard Collomb.

Now the storm is headed for South Florida, where it could potentially pummel Trump's famous Mar-A-Lago club and three golf courses in the area.

Why doesn't Trump jet to Palm Beach and lead prayers? That'll sure stop it.

He just needs to appoint someone that doesn't believe in hurricanes to head NOAA and get them to stop posting those maps. Problem solved.

A Category 5 windbag in charge of the weather service, it would be ironic.

I wonder if 45 will change his mind on global warming if Mar-a-lago gets flattened...

Millions of people's lives are at stake and you are gloating and hoping for Trump to suffer? You people are disposable.

If you don't stand for something, you'll probably fall for anything.t

The Reality is that Donnie won't suffer at ALL. The people who work for him will suffer because they will be fired or deported. his insurance company will suffer. The Russians will probably get some of the cash for the inflated value of the property if it is totally destroyed. The members won't get a dime for the $$ they paid for access to the President. It's time America understands exactly what kind of flim-flam man they elected. Oh heck, it's past time. His business practices are brutal and illegal. His political practices are illegal and insane.

(Reuters) - Hurricane Irma swept over U.S. President Donald Trump’s 11-bedroom Caribbean mansion on Wednesday, the first of several luxury Trump properties threatened by the storm’s path. It was not immediately known whether Irma damaged Trump’s beachfront Chateau des Palmiers, or Castle of the Palms, on St. Martin. The gated estate, for sale for $16.9 million, is owned through a trust and had been rented out, U.S. media has reported. But French Interior Minister Gerard Collomb said some buildings had been destroyed and social media showed flooded roads and overturned cars on the island that is roughly divided between France and the Netherlands.

The situation was being closely monitored on St. Martin and at a number of Trump properties in Florida, Trump Organization spokesperson Amanda Miller told Reuters in a statement. “Our teams at the Trump properties in Florida are taking all of the proper precautions and following local and Florida state advisories very closely to ensure that everyone is kept safe and secure,” Miller said.
While Irma’s exact trajectory remained uncertain, Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach - which has been called the “winter White House” and valued by Forbes at $175 million - could also take a hit.

Trump bought the estate in 1985 and turned it into an exclusive club, which now boasts a membership fee of $200,000 and is a haven for the tony Palm Beach set who pull up to the gate in Bentleys and Rolls-Royces. A staffer who answered the phone said it was closed and declined to comment further. Palm Beach County declared a state of emergency on Wednesday.

Near Miami, Trump owns luxury high-rise condos called the Trump Towers, Sunny Isles and the oceanfront Trump International Beach Resort. Some guests were leaving ahead of the storm but precautions were being taken and resort officials were prepared to oversee evacuations if they were ordered, marketing director Jim Monastra said.

At the Trump National Doral, an 800-acre golf resort in Miami that local media reported had completed a $250 million renovation last year, officials tweeted Wednesday that resort operations were going on as normal until further notice.

This is what gloating when millions of people's lives are at stake looks like.

tRump will never suffer, he's rich, the rich never suffer.

We'll suffer, all of us. Even if the hurricane doesn't snatch Dorothy and Toto from our house, our tax dollars will pay for the reconstruction. Our insurance rates will go up too.

tRump and pals will find a way to siphon off whatever money FEMA and the rest have for disaster recovery.

It's the way it's always been unfortunately.

If all the destruction could be confined to tRump on properties...ahhh, but I dream....

I think it is tasteless to rejoice over devastating flood damage because it may have hurt Trump in the process. St. Martin has been described by local authorities as “95 percent…destroyed.”

Look at the photos and tell me this is funny:

I have not seen any trashing of the people of Texas or FLA. The only trashing has been of 45 (who deserves it). I guess in reality we are all disposable but, Swampy, not for the posts here about the victims of the horrendous weather. Now, there is the earthquake in Mexico. I think we are waiting to hear the added costs 45 will make on the taxpayers to restore any damage to his properties. He has drained the FBI and will make sure his properties are restored immediately and probably with cheaper illegals to boot.
