A number of groups protested the decision, and the Notre Dame administrators have reversed the decision made last month to no longer provide birth control as part of theri health coverage - [money.cnn.com].

They reversed the decision because they believed that suspending options for insurance covering birth control would end insurance for birth control for their employees and would then inevitably lead to employees leading biblically pure lives (of murder and incest and voidable multi-party marriages, I guess -- did these people ever read the bible??) -- but then their insurer decided to pick up the payments for birth control out of pocket which made the folks running Notre Dame look as stupid as the cheeto-dusted dumbass in chief.

...I can't figure out whether Aetna did it because some executives actually cared about people or because some executives had someone run the numbers and figured out that it was cheaper than paying for the hospital expenses from the births... Or maybe the board of directors found common ground in their contempt for Donald Trump and took an easy shot at him.

I feel like this was a compromise offered by the previous administration for the faith based organizations that didn't want to fund birth control. No doubt insurers would rather pay a pittance for the pill for all the women who wanted it vs. the incurred and ongoing costs of even one healthy pregnancy and up to 26 succeeding years of life.

Does anyone know what ND's coverage @#$%& and other male virility enhancements is?

And the women who need it. There are other uses of the pill besides becoming the w-h-o-r-e of Babylon.

[DISCLAIMER - that was sarcasm and not intended to express the opinion that women use BC in order to be sexually promiscuous]

ANY residential university that doesn't offer birth control to students better damn well offer pregnancy coverage, adoption services, and childcare. Because those kids are just hooking up like crazy.

Kids these days, huh?

Wikipedia says that the percentage of US high school students who are currently sexually active and the number of US high school students reporting having had sexual intercourse are actually slightly decreased since 1991 (which is, sadly 26 (!) years ago now smiley-shocked003)

Maybe they're waiting for college. Maybe that's why they're "hooking up like crazy" there.
