It's not a new break, it's just a loophole that House Republicans are leaving in place, while closing many others. Their bill is very friendly towards golf club owners and commercial real estate. I'm sure that's just a coincidence though.

Here's a great podcast from Gladwell on why golf sucks as a part of our current system, including tax breaks.

While the loopholes can certainly be examined and closed as necessary - ones like the golf course deduction are no-brainers for removal.

Unfortunately, those crafting this clusterfsck have no brains - so removal is impossible.

The idea that golf courses are environmentally friendly green spaces that deserve preservation incentives is completely idiotic. Good job whatever lobbyist came up with that one.
