Trumpettes acting like he is a king! Nothing legal can touch him!

I keep hearing them say "Trump is the ultimate head of the law""He can't be prosecuted for Obstruction of Justice as President" etc etc. Making up all these things legally that cannot be done to Trump because he is President (or King?)

The Constitution was sad. So sad. Dumb old men. The new one will be great. Best ever.

"He can't be prosecuted for Obstruction of Justice as President" - but that is what President Putin told him.

The New Constitution will be BEAUTIFUL. BIG AND BEAUTIFUL. No one has seen a Constitution like will be written by my administration. No one knows how easy it will be to write MY Constitution.

The "President cannot obstruct justice because he is the chief law enforcement officer.” - Trump’s lawyer

“When the president does it, that means it is not illegal.” - Nixon

There is a nice home made sign hanging from the railroad bridge near work that says "IMPEACH TRUMP".

I agree.

Right.

And how many now-disgraced police officers thought that enforcing the law put them above it?

And how did that guy Ford end up becoming president?

Fake history, you say?

Mueller is just starting, but we can already see the bullseye drawn on Trump's rump.

Orson Scott Card while Obama was president (expressing an attitude about Obama that was widely held by Republicans):

Quote

Obama is, by character and preference, a dictator. He hates the very idea of compromise; he demonizes his critics and despises even his own toadies in the liberal press. He circumvented Congress as soon as he got into office by appointing "czars" who didn't need Senate approval. His own party hasn't passed a budget ever in the Senate.

In other words, Obama already acts as if the Constitution were just for show. Like Augustus, he pretends to govern within its framework, but in fact he treats it with contempt.

How far might he take his dictatorial disposition? Is there any plausible way for him to remain as president for life, like the dictators he so admires and envies in Russia, China, and the Muslim world?

[Stuff like this is why I will never buy or read another Orson Scott Card book.]

OSC went off the rails. I always wondered what set him off.

In contrast, 45 has NEVER been ON the rails.

I think boycotting Card over his political beliefs is silly - just my opinion.

Indeed.

He wrote some amazing science fiction, then he used his fame to espouse hate.

He got a lot of money from me over the years. But no more.

Just my 2 cents'.

I understand it has some fans.

I personally thought Ender's Game was pretty awful, and that was well before I heard about his politics. I didn't think the rest were worth my time. Maybe they were masterpieces.

I liked Ender's Game, loved Speaker For the Dead.

But those were during his sane years.
